Sophomore Campaign

Jenkins competed in the 149-pound weight class during his sophomore year. As the fifth seed in the Big Ten championship, he went 2-2. Before falling to Brent Metcalf and Josh Churella, he defeated Ohio State Lance Plamer twice.

Jenkin’s 6th seed in the NCAA tournament became the second-lowest seed to compete in the final. He overcame No.11, No.3, and No. 7 on his route to the final before losing to No. 1 Brent Metcalf.

Jenkins went 4-1 in nationals in his new category and finished second in the NCAA in 2008.
