American citizen JB Smoove was born in Plymouth, North Carolina, on December 16, 1965. He was born Jerry Angelo Brooks and is a citizen of the United States. He has been portraying Leon Black on the HBO sitcom “Curb Your Enthusiasm” on a regular basis since 2007. (from the sixth season). Furthermore, following his time on SNL, he was cast as Leon in this television series.
