She competed with another young girl as her partner and attended a Saturday class from the age of eight to twelve. Her mother took her to a studio in Liverpool because she wanted more competition, and when she was 14, she moved to South Yorkshire and had the opportunity to dance for two years with British Junior Ballroom Champion Nigel Tiffany.

She teamed up with Sammy Stopford because she was more talented in Latin music. They immediately competed in the Professional Latin division. When she was 18 years old, she won her first major title, the United Kingdom Closed Championship.
